The History of the Budo Ka Red Dragon SKC
Tracing the Journey of Our Esteemed Karate Club
Founding and Early Days
The Budo Ka Red Dragon SKC has a proud and storied heritage. The club was founded in 1996 by Sensei Glyn Roberts, with Sensei John Bell as co-founder. In its infancy, the club was simply known as Budo Ka, reflecting its core focus on traditional martial arts values and training.
As time went on and the club’s identity evolved, the name was changed to the Budo Ka Red Dragon Club, a title that captured both the spirit of its members and its connection to heritage and tradition.

For three decades, the Budo Ka Red Dragon SKC has been an active and respected member of the Karate Union of Great Britain. This longstanding affiliation underscores the club’s commitment to excellence, discipline, and the promotion of karate within the community.
